Jersey Mike's in Palomar Has One of the Best Cheese Steaks Around
My wife and I love to go to Jersey Mike's. In our humble opinion they have one of the best cheese steaks around and all their sandwiches are truly a work of art and taste. So if a neighborhood had one of these I'd want to know about it. And I am sure a lot of you out there do too.
How we found it
Here is how we discovered Jersey Mike's. A friend of ours that works for a sushi place in town, a customer gave them a Jersey Mike's gift card. They don't really eat a lot of American food, so she gave the gift card to me.
The one in Palomar
The one we go to sits in Palomar Centre, the strip at Harrodsburg Road and Man o' War, at 3901 Fountainblue Lane. It is a few minutes up the road from Nothing But Noodles and the church that hosts the South Elkhorn Fall Festival.
What we always get
My wife always gets the Chipotle Cheese Steak, regular size, and I always get Mike's Chicken Philly.
The chicken philly is absolutely delicious and the chicken is chopped fine, the way it should be. It's got grilled onions and peppers and white American cheese, which really brings the flavor.
My wife's sandwich is the really interesting one. It has grilled onions, peppers, white American cheese and the legendary chipotle mayo, which adds a delicious twist to the classic cheese steak. It is very good.
The brownie
I always get the brownie. I highly recommend it. It's the perfect balance between a little bit of cakey and fudgy, and it is a little heavy and a good size, so you might want to share it like we did.
What it cost
My wife's was $10.60 and my sandwich was $9.90. We got two regular fountain drinks at $2.69 apiece. The brownie was $2.69. The total for both of us was just under 30 dollars at $28.77. Depending on when you read this, prices may have gone up.
Not just us
It is not just the two of us. In June 2026 Jersey Mike's came out number one in the American Customer Satisfaction Index, the yearly survey run out of the University of Michigan, with a score of 84 out of 100 in its first year in the survey. Chick-fil-A scored 83. That ended an 11-year run of Chick-fil-A holding the top fast-food spot. It was a satisfaction ranking, not a sales one, but it says something that people who eat there keep rating it that high.
If you live nearby
If you live in Palomar or Beaumont, this one is a quick lunch stop a couple of minutes off Harrodsburg Road, and it is open until 9 every night.
