Good news is there are five legitimate options at very different price points. Here's the honest breakdown. Every price below is what that lot charged at the 2026 festival; lots and rates are announced each spring, so confirm before you buy.
Parking Options
Greater Kentucky Credit Union (Closest Paid Option)
2026: ~$125/dayGreater Kentucky Credit Union at 1001 Red Mile Road is the closest paid parking to the festival entrance. At the 2026 festival it charged around $125 per day or $200 for the weekend.
It's the most convenient option if money isn't the deciding factor, useful if you have mobility limitations, very young kids in strollers, or just don't want to walk after eight hours at the festival.
Lexington Clinic (Best Price-to-Distance)
2026: $25 / $35Lexington Clinic at 1221 S Broadway has 831 spaces. At the 2026 festival it charged $25 in advance or $35 day-of, sold through Eventbrite, and it sold out fast.
About a 10 to 15 minute walk down South Broadway to the venue. Security was on-site in 2026, and overnight parking was not allowed (cars off the lot by 1 AM). The walk down South Broadway is flat, well-lit, and direct.
If you're physically able to make a 15-minute walk, this is your best bet.
KSBar & Grille (Best Price-to-Distance)
Paid + Gift CardKSBar & Grille at 1030 S Broadway has run a paid event lot on festival weekend. Historically, buying a parking pass includes a gift card to use at the restaurant.
Same 10 to 15 minute walk down South Broadway, and the same 1 AM cutoff for overnight parking applied in 2026. KSBar posts its rate on Facebook and Instagram rather than in advance, so check there closer to the event.
UK Campus Lots
2026: ~$50 day-ofAt the 2026 festival, the University of Kentucky opened four lots to festivalgoers:
- •Two surface lots off Press Avenue, signed in 2026 as Press Avenue North and Press Avenue South
- •Leader Avenue Lot
- •Elizabeth Street Garage (PS #6), 721 Elizabeth Street, at the corner of Press and Virginia
Cost was around $50 day-of in 2026, less than Greater Kentucky Credit Union but more than Lexington Clinic. All four are less than a mile from the venue. Lots opened at 10 AM daily, card or mobile pay only, no cash. Overnight parking was prohibited.
Solid backup if the closer lots sell out, or if you happen to be staying near campus. UK announces which lots it opens and at what rate each spring, so check transportation.uky.edu and the posted signs closer to the event.
Downtown LexPark Garages (Cheap, but Walking)
Standard City RatesIf saving money matters more than minimizing walking, the downtown public garages are typically the cheapest option:

- •Transit Center Garage at 150 E Vine St, $10 daily max through Dec. 31, 2026 and the lower of the two, rising to $19 on Jan. 1, 2027 per LexPark's 2026 rate map
These run standard daily city rates, which are far cheaper than any of the event-specific lots. The trade-off: you're looking at a longer walk (probably 30 to 35 minutes) or a short rideshare. Realistically, most people who park downtown end up taking a rideshare the rest of the way.
This is the budget option for groups willing to split a rideshare.
Bring a card. Since July 1, 2024, all LexPark garages are credit card only during downtown events, Pay-on-Foot kiosks included.
Rideshare and Drop-Off
At the 2026 festival, the official pickup and dropoff zone was across from 1141 Red Mile Rd, next to Bus Stop 810, with traffic attendants directing cars to and from it. Railbird publishes the zone location each year, so confirm it before you ride.
Pickup zones get extremely congested after the festival ends each night. Plan to wait, or walk a few blocks away from the zone before requesting a pickup. Surge pricing during peak departure times can be significant.
A Note on Accessibility
Railbird does not offer ADA parking at the Red Mile itself. The festival's official guidance is to use downtown parking and accessible LexTran shuttles.
If you need accessible parking and want to be close to the venue, Lexington Clinic is your best bet from the paid options above. The walk is along a flat sidewalk down South Broadway, the lot has security and staff on-site, and the distance is genuinely manageable for most mobility levels. Greater Kentucky Credit Union is closer still, though more expensive.
Strategy: Plan Your Re-Entry
At the 2026 festival, re-entry was allowed until 9pm each day. Whatever the cutoff is in a given year, it matters for parking choice. If you park downtown or at UK to save money, you'll likely want to leave mid-afternoon for a real meal or a break, then come back for the evening's headliners. Plan that timing against the posted re-entry cutoff, because the longer walks back to your car are less fun after a full day in the sun.
A Warning About Tickets
If you shop for last-minute tickets, here's something the official Railbird site mentions but most attendees miss: buying from Facebook groups, Craigslist, or third-party brokers can leave you stranded at the gate.
Railbird has used physical wristbands that are voided the moment they're tampered with. Once a wristband is off someone's wrist, even if they genuinely sold it to you, it's no longer valid, and security will turn you away. That isn't a scam concern (though those exist too), it's the policy. A real ticket from a real attendee in a Facebook group is still a wristband that won't work.
For the 2026 festival, the only resale channel Railbird supported was its Ticketmaster Verified Exchange, reached through the official Railbird site. Ticketing and entry rules are set fresh each year, so check the official site for the current policy before buying anything secondhand.
What to Avoid
- ×Don't park on residential streets without checking signage. Lexington has permit zones near venues, and tickets are real.
- ×Don't show up at noon Saturday expecting easy options. The best lots sell out in advance.
