Why you get two answers
Two different sets of boundaries are true at two different times, and no single tool, including the district's own, shows you both at once.

The three schools at the top of the result are your current assignment. Nothing about them changes this school year.
Starting fall 2027
On June 22, 2026 the Fayette County Board of Education adopted a rezoning that redraws some elementary boundaries when Helen Caise Wade Elementary opens on Greendale Road for the 2027-28 year. Most addresses are untouched. FCPS put the reassignment at 749 students in grades K-5. If your address is in one of the reassigned areas, the result says so and names the new school. If it is not, the result says there is no change.
Middle and high school zones are not changed by this rezoning, anywhere in the district. That is why the fall-2027 line covers elementary only. It is not a second lookup that came back empty.

Street names tell you nothing
The most common way people get this wrong is by reasoning from the name of their street, their subdivision, or their mailing address.
A real example from this data: 2100 Sandersville Rd is currently zoned to Coventry Oak Elementary, not to Sandersville Elementary. A road can run past a school, or share its name, and sit in a different attendance area entirely.
The same goes for distance. The nearest school is frequently not the zoned school, because boundaries follow capacity, feeder patterns, and permanent landmarks rather than a radius. Only the boundary line answers the question.

Does the rezoning change middle or high school zones?

Not necessarily, and this trips people up constantly. To take a real example, 2100 Sandersville Rd is currently zoned to Coventry Oak Elementary, not to Sandersville Elementary. Street names, subdivision names, and mailing addresses tell you nothing reliable about attendance zones. Only the boundary line does.

Does being zoned to a school guarantee my child attends it?
Zoning is the starting point, not a guarantee, and it works in both directions. FCPS has grandfathering policies, out-of-area application allowances, and magnet and application programs that can place a student somewhere other than the zoned school. When the committee projected enrollment for the new school it explicitly assumed a number of students would stay where they are. Ask the district about your specific situation.

What if my address is not found?
Include the house number and the street type, for example 225 Lucille Dr rather than Lucille. If the lookup returns a different address than you typed, it will say so and will not show any schools, because a near-miss on a street name can land on the opposite side of town. Addresses outside Fayette County return no result, since a neighboring county district would assign them.
