Festival Details
Christ the King Oktoberfest is held in mid September each year on the cathedral grounds at 299 Colony Blvd. It is an annual parish fundraiser, and admission is free.
The 2026 festival runs Friday, September 18 (4pm to 11pm) and Saturday, September 19 (1pm to 11pm).
There is live music both nights on the main stage. In 2026, Big Head Todd and the Monsters headline Friday at 9:30pm and Honeychild headlines Saturday at 9:15pm. The car raffle drawing is Saturday at 9:00pm.
The festival has booked recognizable touring acts before: Smash Mouth has played more than once, and the Spin Doctors played in 2023.
The Parking Reality
There is no dedicated festival lot and no trick to this one. The cathedral grounds hold the festival itself, and everyone arriving by car parks on the residential streets around it. The side streets radiating out from the church, and the blocks beyond them, line up with parked cars as the evening goes on.
That means the walk in is the variable, not the price. Arrive early and you may park within a couple of blocks. Arrive later in the evening, when the music is about to start, and you should plan on a 15 to 20 minute walk from wherever you end up.
Arrive early if you want a short walk
Saturday opens at 1pm and Friday at 4pm. The curb space closest to the grounds goes first, so the earlier you get there, the less you walk.

Restrictions differ block to block around the cathedral. The signs at the curb are the final authority on where and when parking is allowed.
Do not block driveways
These are residential blocks, and people who live on them need to get in and out during the festival. Leave driveways, fire hydrants, and marked no-parking zones clear.

Once You're Inside
Be sure to head on over to the gambling tent and gamble with the Catholics, it's a pretty good time! My favorite thing to do is going into the gymnasium and buying tickets for a chance at winning all kinds of things: a money cake, spa packages, restaurant gift cards, gift baskets, game consoles, experiences and lots of other stuff. They also have an automobile giveaway and tickets are usually around 50 dollars or so. I usually try and buy a ticket for that one. When I am ready to eat I like to go to the German food tent where the church members will serve you brats with sauerkraut and potato salad and a bag of chips, they are soo good!!! But if you don't like German food, they have other food options on the grounds. And for heaven's sake get yourself a beer! They also have live music and the bands are good. They've had big names like Smash Mouth and the Spin Doctors.
