Inside the Bayou Bluegrass Easter Buffet at The Manchester Reserve
Inside the Bayou Bluegrass Easter Buffet at The Manchester Reserve
If you've never been to a Bayou Bluegrass event, Easter Sunday at The Manchester Reserve was a pretty good introduction.
My wife and I went to the Easter buffet today and honestly, I was not expecting the level of food they put out. Bayou Bluegrass has been doing this since 1998 and it shows.
What Was on the Table
They had carved lamb, carved ham, and carved beef tri-tip with whipped horseradish. Southern fried chicken with a Cajun kick. Shrimp and grits. Macaroni and cheese. Broccoli casserole. Southern grits. Mashed potatoes. Green beans. Corn pudding. Caesar salad, spring garden salad, seashell pasta salad, and several other additional sides and salads I honestly lost count of.
And then the dessert table. The Southern bread pudding with bourbon sauce alone was worth the trip. This stuff slaps harder than the bands playing next door at Manchester Music Hall. There were house-made spring sweets and more than I could fit on one plate, which I tried anyway.
The Details
The buffet ran from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at The Manchester Reserve on Manchester Street. Pricing was $46 for adults, $40 for seniors, $25 for kids 5 to 12, and free for kids 4 and under. Reasonable for what you're getting.
